PBL Method and Case Studies

Home / PBL Method and Case Studies

Through it’s unique Project-Based Learning method, "The Innovator’s Framework," TIF guides students to design and execute real-world projects.

All aspects of our original PBL method called "The Innovator's Framework" reinforces a singular aim: empower students to achieve life success by designing and executing real-world projects at the intersection of their loftiest dreams and humanity’s greatest needs. The Innovator's Framework engages students in an iterative cycle of discovery, action, and reflection. Each cycle consists of five steps that guide students closer to their goals while adapting to new learnings and aspirations.

For real-world examples, explore our case studies: one student refining their project with deeper insights, while another shifts focus to pursue a new passion. These stories highlight the flexibility and transformative potential of The Innovator’s Framework.

1. Establish A Grand Mission

Through coaching and introspection, students discover where their greatest joys and talents meet the world’s most pressing problems. This process fosters creative and ambitious thinking, encouraging them to align their passions with meaningful global challenges. By the end, they gain clarity on their purpose and actionable steps toward making an impact.

2. Identify A “Front-Line” Company

Students research and identify organizations leading efforts on their mission. They analyze change agents driving innovation and solving challenges. This process deepens understanding while helping them explore opportunities to align their skills and passions with meaningful global efforts.

3. Plan A Next Step Project

Students collaborate to design a next-step project that moves them closer to their mission. By charting a path backward from the front lines, they identify achievable, impactful actions. This step-by-step process ensures the project is both effective and accessible, building momentum toward meaningful, long-term goals.

4. Do The Project

Students execute their next-step project, typically over one to two months, working collaboratively to bring their ideas to life. This hands-on process helps them master the subject matter, refine their skills, and produce tangible outputs, all while making measurable progress toward their overarching mission.

5. Reflect

Students reflect on their project, evaluating their experiences and outcomes to determine their next steps. They assess whether their initial mission and approach resonate or if a pivot toward a new interest is needed. This process ensures their journey remains aligned with their evolving passions and insights.
